I usually have a very good experience at Kim Nails. I've gotten a number of manicures, spa pedicures, and shoulder massages there. They were all good to great experiences.
This last visit was an exception, however. I got a manicure and a shoulder massage. The manicure went well. The woman who gave me the shoulder massage, Nina, has been very good at everything else I've ever had done by her, but this was pretty bad. She didn't use lotion and pretty much stayed on the same place for the entire 15 minutes, which rubbed me raw and wasn't relaxing. I tried to indicate without being rude that I really liked it when she expanded to other places, but it didn't seem to do much good. When I got in my car, there were chafe marks on my neck from her nails. When I woke up the next morning, the bone in the back of my neck felt bruised. Now, a few days later, I have a rash/breakout on my neck where she massaged. I never get back/neck breakouts/rashes.
I will go back. But I will not get a shoulder massage if I think I might get the same experience. I guess I should have spoken up more, but I didn't realize it would bruise and rash me.
